The industry has been buzzing with rumours of many new product being showcased by the large manufacturers at NAMM 2012. The expected flood of new controllers from companies including Numark and American DJ have brought the digital dj even more choice in the mid price range units. Pioneer have released the limited editing White CDJ2000′s but above all the biggest innovations for our business are the hybrid controllers and performance units. 2012 will see even more of these units being released and in my opinion whilst aimed at the club DJ will bring a brand new element to DJing.
On the lighting side we can expect a lot more LED products this year but without the dot effect that most DJ’s have been complaining about for the past few years. The innoroll and innoscan from American DJ look promising as well as the second generation of myDMX, myDMX2.
What are your thoughts on these units? Will they bring the live remix DJ to the for front of our business or are they just another flash in the pan?
